Wonderful

We have stayed in Winter Park many times. This was by far the best apartment we have used. The location is perfect and the amenities are excellent. A couple of things, the mattress on the sofa bed is a little uncomfortable and could use a little more storage room. I'm not sure where 5 people would put all of their kit. There was only two of us so no problem. All of the staff are so helpful, even when I set the fire alarm off (by accident) and thought the building was going to be evacuated ! We can't wait to come back in Feb 12

Wonderful experience. Lovely place to stay. Clean, cozy, very home-like feel. Some tips that would have been helpful during our first day are 1. Where the kitchen light switches were. (Took a while to find that) 2. That the ski locker key was hanging on the wall. Had no way of knowing this till we called the front desk. 3. Just a little confused as to how towels, sheets, and things like this were to be handeled. Unsure if it was handeled by the hotel or by the owners of the condo. Overall these issues were clearly very minor. Would love to come back asap.

It was the change of seasons(summer to getting ready for the ski season) so activities were limited. Practically everything was closed but we truly enjoyed stay and unit we had.

We were 1st time vendors at the Wpjf. This lodging was clean and close enough for convenience. The only issue for me was the lack of housekeeping service. You had to almost clean the unit upon departure. After a vacation stay or in our case business, the last thing you feel like doing is stripping your bed, loading the dishwasher, etc. so you don't get a cleaning fee attached to your bill. I know it was not a hotel, but I have been to other condo/timeshare lodgings and this was not a requirement. Otherwise the lodging was acceptable for our needs.
Manager's Response:
Thanks for staying with us! Stripping the sheets is optional so next time, just leave it as is and we'll be happy to do ti for you. Glad you enjoyed the condo and the Jazz Fest. Sarah, owner, WPLC

We loved how the condo was on the riverside of the building. Heard the beautiful rushing water sounds every morning and evening. The condo was clean, comfortable, and right in the heart of the ski resort. Convenient to walk to all the attractions. We had an excellent experience.
Perfect 2-day getaway
Reviewed by Pattie on 7/14/2011
I took my 4-year old for a 2-day getaway while Daddy was in Germany and this turned out perfect. Having Starbucks, eateries, playgrounds, and ice cream within walking distance (right downstairs actually) was invaluable. We also spent a day at the Fraser Rec Center which was amazing and took advantage of the bike trail to Fraser. The condo was very nice, with a great selection of videos and books to keep us entertained while inside. Thank you!

We had a great weekend. The weather was beautiful. The location couldn't of been better. We look forward to renting Zepher 2419 this winter. The only complaint was the fold out couch where my daughter and I slept both nights was in horrible condition and was very uncomfortable. Otherwise the condo was darling, we loved it@!
Manager's Response:
Thank you for the review, Gray. We have fully fixed that couch and it's all good now. Many thanks and see you this winter!

The Zephyr Lodge in Winter Park is modern, comfortable, and convenient to close and fun summer activities such as the alpine slide, chairlifts, biking, and is a close drive to the town of Winter Park. All concerns were immediately addressed (room temperature was only issue) in a polite and a professional manner.

We had an excellent time, very friendly staff and we were well informed about the area/ skiing/ ect. We would love to come back someday! The only thing we had trouble with was the front door of the condo would jam up when we tried to enter.
the good and the bad
Reviewed by rrb on 4/6/2011
the location of the Zephyr is terrific and great for ski in ski out. I had a major problem with parking. $14 per day is too much and the people mover machine is cold and too distant. The accommodations were comfortable. One annoying concern - the front desk could not tell me the room telephone number. we had an emergency health issue and I could not get the number of the telephone in our room
Overall, we had a nice time.

The condo was accommodating as it provided all we expected. The value of the condo was worth what we paid, it was clean and well stocked with kitchen items, bath towels, blankets, comfortable furniture. Our only problem was we arrived at 11 am but check-in was at 4pm. The staff advised us the unit was ready at 11 am but the rental company would not release the unit. This 5-hour wait was a real bother since we, with an infant and two other small children, felt like displaced tsunami refugees. I still would recommend the property but please advised your perspective clients to carefully arrange their schedule to accommodate for the firm check-in time.
Nice cozy condo, but not exactly ski in/ski out
Reviewed by TNZ on 3/16/2011
This was a nice cozy condo at the Zephyr Riverside complex. If you know much about the location of the complex (which we didn't), you know that this condo sits on the side of the walkway that runs through Winterpark Village which is opposite the ski mountain. Therefore, you can't technically ski in or ski out of the front door of the condo complex. However, the walk from the snow to the complex is probably only 100 yards. It was just a bit disappointing given my ski in/ski out experiences at Copper, Steamboat and Crested Butte.Other than this, the stay in the condo was great! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The place is clean, well-appointed and nicely decorated. There is a wonderful gas fireplace and a Bose CD/DVD player. We had 4 adults and 1 child in our group, so it was a little crowded. However, it was manageable. The sofa sleeper is miserable, so I wouldn't recommend putting adults or children who are very particular about where they sleep on it. The couch is very nice, but the mattress is uniquely designed with the springs inside of it (not sure what engineer came up with that design?). I am not picky about where I sleep as we camp a lot and the ground is fine with me. But this was very uncomfortable!Winterpark Lodging Company was very helpful providing us information and discounts for lift tickets, restaurants and shops. The Zephyr Mt. Lodge is nice and has a shuttle that provides you a lift to the free parking if you aren't interested in paying $14/day for the underground parking. We would certainly stay here again if I was slated to stay in the bedroom rather than on the sleeper sofa!

We stayed in a one bedroom in the Zepyr. Check in was great, Wplco even called me just as we arrived to be sure all was OK. The location is great, just a few steps from the lift, sweet Bose stereo and a Starbucks in the building.

Fantastic location short walk from Zephyr Lift. Bit of a pain to have to walk across half the village to the ticket office though, but not an issue if you have multi day ticket or season pass. So much better than staying somewhere else and having to drive and park or take the shuttle.Well equipped kitchen with all the cookware, utensils and silverware you need to make your own meals. Big fridge, 4 burner stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher (loud - don't run it when people trying to sleep in living room). Wired internet access fast and reliable, but no wireless. Location of network port means you are restricted to using internet on the kitchen counter. Solve by bringing own WiFi access pt.Sofa sleeper extremely uncomfortable. Sags and you can feel each piece of the metal frame through thin mattress. Sags so much you can't lie flat, you are in V shape. Get ready for a one way trip to backache city if you sleep on this. Small kids OK on it. We had 10 and 6yr olds on it - they complained but did end up sleeping OK.Single fold out bed handy for a 5th person. Cushion is in 3 pieces and they slide apart despite some strips of cloth (some missing) on the bottom to tie the pieces to the frame. But brace the bed against the wall or put something like a chair at the foot of it and you will hold the 3 piece mattress together well enough to sleep on.Queen bed in bedroom very comfortable and plenty of cupboard and drawer space. They have a good collection of Dvd's and books in the room, some quality movies there and good reading. There are some board games but unplayable as pieces are missing.Private lockup ski locker on the 1st floor is great! Get the elevator down in the morning, get your skis from the locker, out the door and onto the snow (unless you have to go to the ticket office).Check in was quick and easy, and front desk staff are helpful. Downstairs parking well worth it at $14/day.Overall a great stay. Definitely would stay here again.
Wonderful Experience!
Reviewed by lov2cook on 1/20/2011
The condo was so much nicer than the pictures depicted. We had everything we needed - we cook a lot and to have a fully accessorized kitchen was a big surprise. There was even a crockpot. We brought our own not imagining one would be there. By the way, that is the only downfall, a little more detail on what's included, where keys and locker are located, and ability to get more towels if requested were the only complaints we had. They even provide games, books, and videos for all ages. To be able to ski in/ski out, have a locker rental right downstairs, and shopping and entertainment nearby was great. The only thing was that we planned and hauled all our own food and supplies. If they provided a grocery service or provided info in advance on a nearby Walmart or Target it would help as well. Otherwise, it was the best ski vacation we've ever had - largely in part due to the wonderful accommodations. Thank you Winter Park Lodging Staff - you are all very friendly and nice to deal with.

We stayed the Friday and Saturday night after Thanksgiving. Check in was simple and easy. The room was prepared, in great shape and no issues at all. The hardest thing was finding the light switch which was under the countertop of the breakfast bar. We had an awesome view of the village and lifts. We only were in the room for night and sleeep as we were skiing both days so other than the room was nice, we really didn't spend to much time there. Had we though, we had everything we needed.

Our stay at this condo was very comfortable and the location is prime. About the only issue was that we couldn't open the windows to let in some fresh air as the weather was warm the weekend we visited.
Manager's Response:
Thank you for the review. The bedroom skylight opens and provides nice breezes at night - the mechanism to open is in the closet and pretty easy to get it wound open. Come back again soon and enjoy the brand new shower with granite tile!
Fun, vintage decor with great views next to resort!
Reviewed by Colorado guest on 8/6/2010
The Winter Park Lodging team was very helpful when I called to select a condo. The condo they suggested was perfect in terms of accessibility, space and mountain views. The living area was large and comfortable, and we enjoyed people watching on the outside porch. There were lots of books, Dvds, and games to choose from. We loved the vintage Winter Park decor. Our least favorite aspect was lack of ventilation: only the door to the deck and a crank ceiling window above the bed. The air was sometimes stuffy so would recommend a/C or some type of cooling system.
Manager's Response:
Thank you for the review of Zephyr 2419. Glad you had fun! As for the ventilation, we have added 2 more fans for the summertime. Usually it's pretty chilly here so not often an issue but the fans are there for you next summer. Thanks very much and come back again!

Great Location for ski families!
Reviewed by Midwest Ski Racer on 4/6/2010
This fully equipped condo with a queen bedroom and sofa pullout was quiet, had a great view out both sides; bedroom and balcony. We were able to lay in bed and see the moon on clear nights through the skylight! It is a pretty small space to put 4 people, but we managed by moving some of the excess furniture out of the way. We did have 3 problems in 2419; a toilet needed repair turning on and off all night, the single bed/chair was broken and could only be used propped up at a strange angle on the wall, the front of it completely smashed and a spring fell out when we tried to open it, and there weren't enough blankets in the condo, the ones we found were covered in what looked like black dog hair. All these problems were taken care of by management with only one friendly call. I would warn the next visitors to 2419 that it gets very hot in the unit during the day and we had to keep the balcony door open a crack to get it cooler, then during the night sometime after 2am it gets much colder and you really need extra blankets at least 2 for each bed. The heat can not be controlled from inside the unit for some reason. I would think that during the daytime it is quite a waste of heating money to heat to about 80 degrees, and have to have a door open. We could not figure out how to open the windows, or they were stuck, so we used the door. The 4th floor condo was styled very nicely in rustic ski camp style and served excellently as our base of operations with everything you could ask for just outside the building. In the future I would say that the next upgrade to the condo besides replacing the sleeper chair would be to replace the tub and tile to a more modern one piece system. It was worn and dated, unable to clean to a shine, with some mildew at the connection of the tile wall and tub. Another addition that would make the property much nicer would be a bathroom exhaust fan. With 4 people using one bathroom it was damp and smelly without outside exhaust.
Friendliness of the people in Winter Park.

The unit was excellent, however I come to Winter Park for the mountains and the people. I last came to Winter Park in 2007 and stayed at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge so I knew I wanted to stay ther again. This year I was pleased with all the staff at Zephyr and the people at Winter Park Lodging Company were the best. I travel to ski resorts all over the west and the Winter Park people, on the mountain and in town are the nicest I have met. From the welcome bag of goodies to the followup calls from the Winter Park Lodging staff, I felt like a VIP for the duration of my stay. I particularly liked the location, right in the charming village and only a few dozen steps from the chair lifts. This unit was not enormous, but a comfortable size for a couple of people. It was clean and nicely appointed. Views from the bedroom show the ice-skating rink. Views from the balcony show the village and lifts. Internet access via hard-wired ethernet was nice while it lasted; after the second day the connection no longer worked, but I was able to access the free WiFi down in the lobby.

We enjoyed coming in for lunch and sitting on the balcony during the evening. My one suggestion would be to have an Internet hook-up next to the TV.
